Extreme Makeover Home Edition

NST Member Judy Mae Osborne got the great pleasure to be selected to participate in ABC's TV Show Extreme Makeover Home Edition!
From Judy Mae:

On June 21st I had the absolute honor of being chosen to participate as a volunteer for a new home build on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I wanted to share with the team the experience. It was like no other volunteer event that I had ever participated in. I was totally amazed at the number of people who volunteered their skills and talents. To see @200 people at one time working so closely together, mostly perfect strangers was just heartwarming and incredible to me. There were a total of over 1,000 volunteers throughout the week.
The family the house was built for included a couple with 4 kids and 7 nieces and nephews whose mother could no longer care for them and their aunt wanted to keep them together. That's 13 people in one house! Everyone on the site was so into the cause and making sure everything was perfect. After serving for 5 hours I was muddy hot and tired, but willing to do more if need be. I would volunteer for something like again in a minute. It was such a heartwarming experience. If anyone ever gets the opportunity to do it, DO IT!! You will come away with a feeling that you've never had before.
The show will air in September. Watch for it. It is the Hill Family in Suffield, CT.

NST Member Jennifer Mykleby spent a day flyering! Matthew & Gunnar thank Jenn for her efforts in promoting! She also won the July NST contest and got a great prize!

NST Social at Epcot - May 8, 2009

NST Member Pat Thome & friend, Meg hosted a social at Epcot! Craft items were brought to make visors, games were played with prizes won. All who attended were treated with reserved seating for the first show of the day! Huge thanks to Pat & Meg for all the planning they did to make this a fun social!

Race For Autism / March 28, 2009 / San Diego, CA

It was an absolutely gorgeous morning in the beautiful city of San Diego, CA. Thousands of people showed up to run or walk to raise money for Autism Research. NST members, Karen Powell & Dawn Kiefler proudly wore their NST shirts representing NELSON on the walk portion of the race. A huge thanks to those that donated to this event!
